Investigations confirm UWA archaeology professor Sandra Bowdler:

• Led a department with a high standard of research and teaching.
• Did not mismanage her department as claimed by David Rindos.
• Did not "prey' on her students but had a consensual long-term relationship.
• Was not the subject of any sexual impropriety complaint.
• Was not the subject of any complaints before she criticised the work of Dr Rindos in 1991.
• Was not the subject of any complaints for which, if proved, she was likely to lose her job.
• Has not been the subject of any complaints since 1992.
• Had the support of most students and all her staff (three lecturers, tutor) except Dr Rindos.
• Had had the support of successive UWA heads of anthropology, the home of archaeology since 1992.
• Was not involved in conflict of interest while a member of the Aboriginal Cultural Materials Committee.
• Was described by her peers as one of Australia's leading archaeologists.
• Was supported by representatives of Aboriginal organisations connected with her work.
