Subject: Re: Hugh Jarvis's posting concerning UWA Archaeology

Dear Prof. Tonkinson,

When you boil all the obfuscation and not-so-subtle threats from your post, nothing, alas, remains. There are no specific denials of any of the allegations made in the Jarvis post, including those regarding possibly coercive sexual relationships between a faculty member and students; any responsible chair ought to be gravely concerned about any sexual relationships between departmental faculty and students. So Dr. Rindos has "most" of the documentation he needs. It is unacceptable that any files in this kind of case be, uh, "misplaced" or "lost."

I have never met Dr. Rindos, nor do I have any fish to fry in Australian academia. There is no question in my mind, though, having read some of his work, that Dr. Rindos is a major talent with interesting and significant perpectives on domestication.

Feel free to pass on my name to your university counsel for scrutiny of defamatory/libelous content. As undoubtedly with Prof. Jarvis, I'm shaking in my sneakers.
