Dear Vice Chancellor:

I have written on behalf of David Rindos early in the case. Since then I have followed events in the case in The Chronicle of Higher Education and on arch-l and anth-l on the internet. From all I can ascertain, the case is internationally important for issues relating to academic freedom and freedom of information. Sadly, it is a case that has severely damaged the reputation of UWA, an institution that I once considered to be among Australia's best.

I urge you to do everything in your power to settle this matter. I ask that you also do everything in your power to see that UWA deals openly and honestly with Dr. Rindos.
