I have considered your request to advertise a new position in your department, but in the current situation am unable to approve this until more information is available, budgetwise.

Although David Rindos is no longer in your department, he is still a teacher in Archaeology at this University and must be regarded as such, even if you are unable to work with him.

Although the budget is not yet known, it seems to me that it will be possible to provide part-time teaching money to assist. A considerable portion of the 1992 budget will be historically based, but other factors may be taken into account.

I note your comments on your long term plans. They must be put to the Review Committee and we can discuss them after the report is received.
